Privacy Policy

This site, wpfreighter.com, is run by Anchor Hosting. It exists to distribute and document the WP Freighter plugin. This page explains what the site records about you, what the plugin itself does, and how to reach us. Last updated September 11, 2026.

What we collect

Server logs

Like every web server, our host keeps access logs that record your IP address, browser, the page you requested and the time. We use them to keep the site running and to investigate abuse. They are rotated automatically and are not combined with anything else.

Analytics

We count page views with Fathom Analytics, a privacy-focused service. It does not use cookies, does not store your IP address and does not track you across other sites. We see totals such as which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from, never individual people.

Forms

The site has two forms. The email sign-up form asks for your name and email address so we can send you a note when a new release or article is published. The support form asks for your name, email address and message so we can reply. Submissions are stored in this site’s database. Sign-up addresses stay on the list until you unsubscribe using the link in any message. Support messages are kept while we help you and for a reasonable time afterwards.

Form submissions are checked for spam by CleanTalk, which receives the submitted fields and your IP address to make that decision. Email is delivered through a transactional email provider, which processes the address and message on our behalf.

Cookies and local storage

Reading the site sets no cookies of our own. If you switch the light or dark theme, that choice is saved in your browser’s local storage and never leaves your device. Our hosting provider’s content delivery network may set a short-lived security cookie to distinguish people from bots. Cookies are only set by WordPress itself when a staff member logs in.

Links to other services

Downloads, source code and release notes are served by GitHub, and the walkthrough videos are hosted on Vimeo. Following those links takes you to their sites, where their own privacy policies apply.

What the plugin does

WP Freighter runs entirely on your own server and sends nothing about you or your sites to us. It has no account, no license check and no telemetry. The one outside request it makes is to GitHub, to look for a newer version, which exposes your server’s IP address to GitHub the same way any WordPress update check would. You can read the full source at any time in the repository.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or trade any data. The services named above process data only to provide their function to us: hosting, analytics totals, spam checks and email delivery. We would disclose data if legally required to.

Your choices

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Every email we send to the list has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address. To make any request, write to hey@wpfreighter.com.

Changes
